The program overview

Two boxers

Boxing

The core of the program is boxing. RJBC program participants train in boxing two hours per day, six days per week. Boxing teaches participants to be fast on their feet—to think quickly, to confront an opponent squarely and fearlessly.

The boxer exudes confidence and commands respect.

Music

Music is the most powerful art form. RJBC program participants gain a familiarity with music theory. They study a Beethoven symphony as an artistically true expression of the human condition and a Bach piece as an artistically true expression of the divine.

Games, sports, movies

Program participants learn and play chess and poker and, if weather and access allow, tennis and golf.

Evenings are devoted to reading, poker tournaments, conversation, and movies.

Academics

boxerRJBC program participants study literature, poetry, and, especially, history.

Exercise

The exercise regimen is adjusted to fit the circumstances of the individual, but, in general, program participants start with light cardio and flexibility exercises, gradually move into weights, and, by the thirteenth week, are doing high impact workouts to start the day fit and energized.

The physical renewal is augmented by outdoor activities as weather allows.

Nutrition

Participants eat well while completing the program with an emphasis on whole, raw foods.

He will also participate in butchering the meat we eat. For some RJBC mans, this will be a particularly difficult episode to contemplate. They will dread the day. It is our view that having the experience of butchering provides an appreciation for life. Anyone who eats meat should have the experience of slaughter at least once in their lives. We will approach the butchering process humanely and with a sober respect for the animal as a sentient creature.
