Saturday

Saturday is when the Seniors finish up their art projects. For Juniors, it is Mentoring Day, when each Junior is assigned an incoming Freshman he spends the day showing around. Chores as pertaining to animals, garden, and food prep and clean up continue but with relaxed schedules. Depending on the season, students will golf, ski, hunt, fish, hike, play basketball or tennis, or otherwise strive to spend the day outdoors to the extent possible. This is also the time for larger projects like building a new set of bunk beds or canning vegetables for the winter.

Sunday

Sunday's chores are as Saturday's, but, otherwise, Sunday is devoted to graduation. We say good-bye to the seniors and get ready to welcome a new freshman class. The morning breakfast runs two to three hours and includes a semi-formal debate and public speaking. Any student can participate and all are encouraged to. The topics of discussion are general and examine some aspect of how we treat one another during our short time on this planet. In other words, Sunday mornings are religious in nature—based loosely on Plato's Symposium.
